HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —Less than a week after a council seat officially opened, township officials are expected to fill the vacancy at its reorganization meeting Monday night.

At its last meeting of the year, long-time Councilman Gregory Nesbitt resigned. But his resignation wasn't effective until Dec. 31. Since Nesbitt's announcement on Dec. 14, the township has been accepting applicants and letters of interest from potential candidates.

The first item on the meeting agenda is for the council to consider an appointment to replace Nesbitt, who had one year remaining on his term.
