1. What are the top issues currently facing your position and how do you plan to address them?
The continuing difficulty of balancing continuous increases in operational costs due to inflation without burdening the community with steep tax increases. This is done by increasing my overall understanding of our fiscal policies and being transparent about the challenges we face. We can then use public feedback to better plan out our budget each year, creating a proactive plan knowing we can’t do everything all at once.
We also have to continue to work with our fantastic borough staff to hone in, prioritize, and acquire the most cost-effective and useful grants to create continuous improvement in our community. These are advantageous to the Borough to fund important improvements for everything from parks to stormwater management to helping our local businesses while minimizing the increase to the overall budget.
2. Identify specific goals or ideas you have to enhance life in your position:
Continuing to improve transparency within the borough’s fiscal practices and to continue to create strong people-first strategies for our amazing borough employees to support them as they play key roles in bettering our community.
Additionally, continued use of cost-effective grants, working with our local businesses to create a more vibrant business community and working to find ways to increase stormwater management as well as improving our overall environment.
3. What in your experience or background prepares you for election to office?
I currently hold certifications and extensive experience in multiple areas of expertise from project management, organizational development, workplace and community building, technical administration, and training to work both with borough employees, residents, and businesses to find common ground and create a more vibrant future.
In addition, I have spent many years as a business consultant for multiple industries including many municipalities and non-profits. I currently serve on the Administration, Public Works, and Finance and Grant committees through my current tenure council.
