Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Debut In Horsham
Horsham Township offers two stations: one at the municipal complex and the other in front of the Horsham Library.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —If you have an electric vehicle, the township is offering you a new place to charge.
Horsham Township Council recently posed with one of its two charging stations, this one in the parking lot at the Municipal Complex between the Township Building and Community Center.
The other charging station can be found in front of the Horsham Library on Babylon Road.

Each station, which is outlined in orange, has two ports for two vehicles to use at the same time. The stations have two parking spots designated in green for electric vehicles.
In February, the council approved adding two charging stations at a cost between $30,000 and $40,000 for each station. Township Manager Bill Walker had stated that the costs were built into the 2023 municipal budget and that also grants were available.

The council agreed to a five-year contract with Chargepoint, a company that has seven charging stations throughout the township and numerous others in surrounding communities.
Dennis Haggerty, the township's director of administration, had previously stated that there were funding incentives available, including a $4,000 grant from the Department of Environmental Protection and a possible PECO grant.
Township officials said that with more electric vehicles on the road and sales rising, the demand for charging stations has also increased.
"Council is helping Horsham Township to do its part to clean up the environment by making it easier for visitors and customers to charge their electric vehicles while increasing energy efficiency and lowering our town's environmental footprint," township officials said.
