Former Army Reserve Center Will House New Horsham Middle School

The U.S. Army Reserve Center on Route 611 had its zoning designation changed at a recent meeting.

Horsham’s new Hallowell Middle School is one step closer to reality.

The zoning designation has officially been changed on the former U.S. Army Reserve Center in Horsham, allowing for the tenancy of the new school.

The Center, which comprises about 7 acres on Route 611, has been out of use for some time, Councilmen said during a meeting last week.

The current school property is over 50 years old, constructed in 1962. It can hold 400 students.

The new Hallowell will be designed for 600 students, with expandable room for up to 750.

The project is likely to cost about $31.26 million, officials said.
