Former Horsham Soccer Association Treasurer Pleads Guilty to Theft
Daniel Heinze, 50, has admitted to stealing more than $64,000 from the Horsham Soccer Association.

Daniel Heinze, the former Horsham Soccer Association treasurer, has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $64,000 from the organization.
The Times Herald reports that Heinze, 50, of Ambler admitted to the theft in Montgomery County Court on Thursday. The publication reports that sentencing has been deferred so a background investigative report can be completed.
Heinze was charged with multiple counts of felony theft, receiving stolen property, forgery and related charges for taking $64,292 from the association over the course of four years, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office announced in April.

Heinze served as treasurer of the organization from November 2009 to November 2013. Officials said an investigation revealed that throughout that time, he wrote 23 checks from the soccer association’s account and deposited them into his personal bank accounts.
He forged the signatures of association presidents and altered the financial records to hide the deposits into his accounts, officials said.

The discrepancies were noticed as the association’s current board was doing a 2013 year-end financial review. The association then notified Horsham Township Police.
Heinze faces a maximum sentence of 8 ½ to 17 years in jail, according to the Times Herald.
