Fundraising as a Boy Scout is really tough. Especially for the small town of Hatboro, which supports two Boy Scout Troops and a Cub Scout Pack. But this extraordinary community and their surrounding neighbors are always there for them.
The boys of Hatboro Troop 81, chartered by Lehman Church, excel at overcoming such obstacles. Anyone who has attended the Hatboro Thanksgiving Parade will tell you about the scouts who push their carts of wreaths, that they decorated the day before, up and down the parade route.

People will also tell you how the boys also keep a wreath station at the parking lot of, and generously offered by, McMackin’s Tire Service. Proceeds from the wreath sale help support Troop 81 with such things as replacing cooking and camping gear. As well as paying for camp site reservations and the merit badges they earn. This is the only fundraiser held for that purpose. All other fundraisers help to send the boys to Summer Camp.
And what is Summer Camp you ask? Well... Summer Camp is a BSA reservation where young men go for one week to learn life and leadership skills that just aren’t able to be achieved during the rest of the year. Skills that will help them to be better members and leaders of our communities.

Thus we come to the reason for Troop 81’s 3rd Annual Breakfast with Santa. This, and 2 upcoming fundraisers in February and April, will help to pay for the estimated figure of $400 per scout. Imagine if you have more than one scout! These fundraisers are crucial in helping the parents of scouts earn their place on the road to Eagle Scout.
So I ask... No... I encourage you to join us this Saturday, Dec 12th from 8am-11am at Lehman Church in their Fellowship Hall. The boys, as always, will provide you with a most excellent experience and pancakes with sausage at $5 for ages 10 & under and $10 for all others.
And, let’s not forget the chance to have your photo taken with, the one and only, Santa for an additional $5.
