Hatboro Man Set Fire To Kohl's Where He Worked: Report

A Hatboro man and volunteer firefighter has been charged with arson in connection with a fire at the Kohl's where he worked.

HATBORO, PA — A Hatboro man has been charged for setting fire to a Kohl's where he worked as a security officer, according to court documents and media reports.

Eric Robertson, 28, faces two counts of arson and related charges in connection to the May 2017 incident at the West Manchester Township Kohl's in York County, documents show.

The York Dispatch reported that Robertson initially claimed he discovered the fire in a small utility room near the loss prevention office where he worked. Several stuffed animals were burned.

When questioned, Robertson's accounts of the evening kept changing and did not match up with video surveillance evidence, the report states. He was later fired for not cooperating with police, including refusing to turn over video surveillance footage from the store which, as a loss prevention officer, was in his care.

Robertson has previously volunteered as a firefighter with the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro.
