Hatboro Rolls Out Roads For Paving Consideration

Hatboro Borough Council is awaiting cost estimates before deciding which roads will be paved this year. See the list of roads below.

HATBORO, PA —It's time to talk roads in the borough.

While residents are dealing with a road closure through October with the Warminster Road Bridge, borough officials are talking about its 2023 Road Paving Project.

At its committee meeting Monday night, Borough Council unveiled a list of potential roads that would be considered under the project.

Goff said at the meeting that she was preparing the necessary estimates before the roads would be provided to the council for consideration.

There was no mention of whether those estimates would be ready for the May 22 council meeting.

Borough Manager Diane Hegele told Patch Wednesday afternoon that the borough usually paves about three roads each year and budgets between $175,000 and $200,000.

"The estimates could come in a lot higher this year," she said.

Hegele said she would also like to have the parking lot by the swimming pool paved and some new asphalt for basketball courts.

But with rising asphalt costs, she said the borough may be able to pave one full road and maybe two partial roads.

Goff said the road paving must be completed by the end of October.

The following roads are being considered for paving this year:

  • Crescent
  • Central
  • South Chester
  • West Moreland
  • Jacksonville (from Moreland to Montgomery)
  • Lacey
  • Springdale (from County Line to Terrace)
  • Bright to Home
  • Oakdale
  • South Penn at Byberry (about 100 feet needs base repair and paving)
