Ide Departs As President Of Enterprise Fire Company
Hatboro Borough Council also named Fire Marshal Kate Valesky as the borough's emergency management coordinator at its Monday meeting.

HATBORO, PA —The borough is bidding farewell to Steve Ide as president of the Enterprise Fire Company.
It was one of several departures mentioned at Monday night's Hatboro Borough Council meeting.
"It's not easy at times for a smooth operation," Borough Manager Diane Hegele said of Ide. "He's an active member so he's not totally retiring just yet."

Council President George Bollendorf thanked Ide for his service and Ide thanked the council, fire company, Hegele, Mayor Tim Schultz, borough staff, and the fire company for their support.
Meanwhile, Fire Marshal Kate Valesky was named as the borough's new emergency management coordinator, replacing Police Chief James Gardner.

Valesky was named last May as the first womanever to serve as fire marshal in Hatboro.
While Kelly A'Harrah was named to chair the borough's Environmental Advisory Council, the council accepted the resignations of two board members: Carol Brunner and Judy Swanson.
The council also accepted the resignation of Union Library Board Member Muriel O'Neill.
Hegele said the borough is planning on honoring the three resigned board members with plaques at its February committee meeting.
The council also filled numerous board vacancies.
Councilwoman Nicole McMenamin announced appointments for the:
- Upper Moreland Hatboro Joint Sewer Authority (One 5-year term)
- Civil Service Commission (One 6-year term)
- Library Board (One 1-year term)
- Historical Commission (One 3-year term)
- Human Relations Commission (Two 3-year terms)
- Environmental Advisory Council (One 3-year term, one 2-year term, one 1-year term)
- Parking Commission (One 4-year term, one 3-year term, one 2-year term)
In other borough council business:
- The council approved a motion to amend the borough's Fire Lane Ordinance.
- Authorized Solicitor Rebecca Geiser to pursue the Wawa project Line of Credit to obtain payment for past-due escrow bills.
- Authorized staff and Geiser to begin drafting an amendment to the Refuse Ordinance.
