International Tapas Tour Benefits Youth Orchestra
The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County will host an evening of food, music and shopping to support its programs on Oct. 28.
The Youth Orchestra of Bucks County bills its latest fundraiser "International Tapas Tasting Tour."
In addition to gourmet tapas and other tasty treats, Roberta Mayer, Bucks County Community College's Visual Arts Area head, will lead an art and history tour of Tyler Hall during the Oct. 28 event, which runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be plenty of music, of course, including performances by the Fe Fi Faux Jazz quartet, guitarist Brad Mills and the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County's Honors String Quartet.

The YOBC features students from across Bucks and Montgomery counties - including kids from Hatboro and Horsham - as well as from New Jersey. Over the course of more than 20 years, more than 1,500 students have participated in the orchestra.
The orchestra has received a grant from the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance to support the Master Class series, but needs additional funds to continue other programs, including its scholarship program, which offers students full or partial tuition waivers, as well as private instrument lessons. Currently, 12 percent of orchestra students receive financial assistance.
