Montco K9 Showcases Skills At Citizens Bank Park
K9 Mac of the Horsham Police Department is one of only 119 dogs in the nation who can detect digitial devices.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —He's a friendly dog who likes getting attention as evidenced by his reception at Tuesday night's Project Blue Light event honoring the 29 police officers killed in the line of duty in Montgomery County.
Earlier that day, K9 Mac made another appearance.
Horsham Detective Kimberly Ngo and K9 Mac were invited to speak to a gathering of law enforcement officers from throughout the Philadelphia region at Citizens Bank Park.

The focus of Ngo's presentation was to brief law enforcement on the unique and special skills of her partner, a 3-year-old Labrador/Golden Retriever mix.
K9 Mac is one of only 119 dogs in the world with special training: He's specially trained in detecting electronic storage devices.

The skill is critical in combating child exploitation, police said. K9 Mac can sniff out electronic storage devices such as cell phones, USB drives, SD cards, mini-SD cards, external hard drives, and hidden cameras that often contain incriminating evidence.
K9 Mac joined the Horsham Township Police Department in August 2023, capturing the love of the Horsham Township Council and attendees with his wanting to be pet and to get some belly rubs.
Mac also works with a task force, which uses his abilities for search warrants.
Without his superior nose, these hidden items may go undetected making prosecuting those who hurt our kids even more difficult, Horsham Community Police Services said.
"We would like to recognize Detective Ngo and K9 Mac for their tireless work keeping our kids and our community safe," Horsham ChATs said.
