HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —It's the signs of the times in the township these days.

The project began last year with three modern signs replacing old wooden ones at Deep Meadow Park, Carpenter Park, and Kohler Park.

This year, township officials have installed the new signs at Lukens Park, the Kohler Park soccer fields, and the Chestnut Creek Park football fields.
The signs come right in time for Horsham Day on Saturday, June 1.

"These updated signs symbolize our goal of fostering belonging and connectedness throughout our community while exploring fresh ideas that enrich the lives of our residents," township officials said. "From sustainable initiatives that protect our environment to innovative approaches that enhance our quality of life, we strive to create a balance between progress and preserving our roots."
The signs are sleek in design, showcasing each park by offering the township's name at the top, then the name of the park, followed by its address and symbols showcasing what recreational activities the park offers.
The new signs were approved by a park sign ad-hoc committee in July 2022, by the Parks and Recreation Board, and then the Township Council in mid-January 2023.
The signs reflect the township's aspirations for the next 50 years, township officials said.
The committee reviewed colors, fonts, text, materials, and lighting. A wooden panel strip goes down the left side of the sign with a shade of blue chosen as the color.
Township officials said replacing the remaining community park signs will be a phased-in process. All signs will be replaced once the budget allows, officials said.
