No Teacher Furloughs At Hatboro-Horsham, After All

There are no teacher furloughs planned in the Hatboro-Horsham School District, Superintendent Curtis Griffin announced at a school board meeting on Tuesday.

Previous reports had indicated that the school district might consider furloughs, especially due to continued decline in enrollment.

There will be one less teacher at Simmons Elementary School next year for that reason, the school board said Tuesday.

There are also 12 retirements that will go into effect this year in the school district.

Hatboro-Horsham is in the midst of an era of change, as plans to construct the new Hallowell Elementary School get underway.
