Three Horsham Residents Star in 'Little Shop of Horrors'
Buckingham-based Town and Country Players theater group opens its season with an over-the-top musical comedy.
Fans of community theater don’t have much longer to wait. The Town and Country Players’ 2011 season kicks off tonight.
Cue the applause.
"The Little Shop of Horrors," which features performances from Horsham residents Mike Schiumo, Melissa Angelo-Schiumo and Alyssa Farrell, takes to the stage tonight. The quirky spoof of 1950s and 60s Sci-Fi movies features comedy, catchy tunes and an ever increasingly giant plant named Audrey II.

The season promises a mix of classics, comedies, dramas and special events – a little something for everyone in the family.
“I believe that we have selected a strong season that shows an amazing cross-section of theater,” said John Zimmerman, T&C president.

“We truly are offering not only something for everyone, but also a complete season that will take our patrons from highs to lows, from laughter to tears, and in the end, back home again.”
The six plays and three special performances take theater-goers through December.
Other shows include "The Rainmaker," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Laughter on the 23rd Floor," "Much Ado About Nothing" and "It’s a Wonderful Life."
The special performances are a One-Act Festival (shows and directors to be announced), "A Sondheim Spectacular" and "A Very Town and Country Christmas."
Zimmerman said this year, subscribers for the season can enjoy six shows for the price of five. An $80 season ticket package, as well as tickets for individual shows, can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets.

Friday and Saturday night shows have an 8 p.m. curtain time; Sunday matinees start at 3 p.m. "Little Shop of Horrors" runs through April 23.
Tickets are $18.
