HATBORO, PA —Unruly guests have Hatboro officials considering changes to rules at Hatboro Memorial Pool.

At the recent Borough Council meeting, Council President George Bollendorf thanked pool staff in his report, stating how staff did a great job handling the crowds due to some days of extreme heat in July.

He also praised the staff for handling conditions at the pool that went beyond the weather.

"They've been dealing with stuff from people who are not from the borough who are guests," Bollendorf said, adding that the incidents were regarding rules and fees.

He said the Hatboro Police Department was called to help out.

Bollendorf did not provide details about what the issues were involving the guests at 330 W. Moreland Avenue.

"Most people working there are 14-15-year-old kids," he said.

Bollendorf said the borough may need to review pool rules and "look into changing some things."

"Our goal is to maximize the pool for residents and members," he said.

On Tuesday, the borough began offering pool memberships for half off.

Memberships can be purchased at the temporary Borough Hall on 130 Spring Ave.

Anyone with questions about pool membership can visit the borough's website or call 215-443-9100.

The pool was closed for a day in mid-July due to a fecal incident.
