• Truck careens off I-79 overpass onto Route 519 at Houston exit (observer-reporter.com) — A serious crash at the I-79 Houston interchange in North Strabane Township sent a pickup driver to a Pittsburgh hospital after his truck plunged off the overpass onto Route 519. No other vehicles were hit, but Route 519 closed for about two hours while local firefighters and medics from nearby communities responded and state police investigated. 
• Contractor Dies on the Job After ‘Stress Fracture' Causes Tree to Snap and Fall Down on Him (people.com) — A contractor from Houston 42-year-old Ryan John Jenny, died Monday after a tree unexpectedly snapped and fell on him while he was working at a home in nearby Canton Township. Authorities say he was cutting the tree correctly when a stress fracture high above him caused it to break, and emergency crews were unable to save him. Police report the homeowners, who knew him personally, are deeply shaken as the investigation continues.
