• Hughesville council acts on electric scooters ordinance (sungazette.com) — Hughesville Borough Council has immediately banned electric scooters and unicycles from borough streets, alleys, and sidewalks, with possible fines up to $1,000 or scooter confiscation. Council also set two‑hour parking at Spruce and East Water streets and approved permits for July’s fireworks and Christmas in July parade, while addressing downtown sidewalk maintenance concerns. 
• Montoursville teen charged after allegedly reporting self-inflicted gunshot as drive-by shooting (sungazette.com) — An 18-year-old Montoursville resident faces multiple charges after police say a gunshot injury first reported as a Hughesville drive-by shooting was later described as an accidental, self-inflicted wound during a party on East Water Street. Investigators recovered a handgun and ammunition from the home, and the teen is jailed in Lycoming County on $35,000 bail.
