Lycoming County commissioners approve Public Safety Department pilot program with Lycoming Regional Police (sungazette.com) — Lycoming County commissioners approved a pilot program with Lycoming Regional Police to help staff 911 radio dispatch, aiming to cut overtime costs while maintaining emergency coverage that includes Jersey Shore. They also granted real estate tax exemptions to several properties, including vacant parcels owned by Calvary Baptist Church on Broad Street in Jersey Shore, and issued multiple tax refunds tied to property changes and fire damage.
   

3. Wellsboro celebrates Trail of Year designation (tiogapublishing.com) — The Pine Creek Rail Trail, which starts in Jersey Shore and runs to Wellsboro Junction, has been named Pennsylvania’s 2026 Trail of the Year, underscoring its importance to local recreation and tourism. Recent extensions and investments now link the trail directly into downtown Wellsboro, and state leaders say the route is boosting rural economies and quality of life across Tioga and Lycoming counties.
   

4. Bald Birds Brewing Tried to Scale. Now a Former Partner Wants $18.5 Million (inc.com) — Bald Birds Brewing, which once ran its main production facility in Jersey Shore, is now facing major legal and financial pressure from a former partner. Two Roads Brewing and an investor are seeking $18.5 million, part of roughly $20 million in alleged obligations, raising questions about the future of a brand that once helped spotlight Jersey Shore in Pennsylvania’s craft beer scene.
