Investigators report he repeatedly called and emailed the district, then later spoke with police about his grievances. He’s being held in Cambria County Prison on $80,000 bail.

Firefighters mark 72nd year of April training at Cambria County regional academy (wjactv.com) — Firefighters from Johnstown and neighboring departments are spending three April weekends in Patton sharpening their skills at the Cambria County Regional Training Academy’s long-running program. Crews are practicing everything from pump operations and rope rescue to complex vehicle extrications, with instructors stressing safety for both responders and crash victims. Organizers say the academy also helps Johnstown-area departments build stronger working relationships.

Hempfield Area hires principal for Fort Allen Elementary (triblive.com) — Greater Johnstown Middle School principal Ross Houston has been hired to lead Fort Allen Elementary in the Hempfield Area School District, starting July 1. He plans to finish the 2025–26 school year in Johnstown before transitioning to his new role.

4. RECAP: Baseball falls at Pitt-Johnstown, 11-6 (shipraiders.com) — Pitt-Johnstown’s baseball team rallied late at Point Stadium to hand Shippensburg an 11–6 loss, despite being out-hit 13–11. The Mountain Cats used an eight-run surge, including a six-run seventh inning, to erase a 6–3 Raiders lead in Johnstown.
