Shots Fired On Napoleon Street (fox8tv.com) — Johnstown police are investigating another round of gunfire on the 600 block of Napoleon Street, the city’s fourth shooting incident in the past month. No one was injured, but witnesses reported shots from an SUV and officers collected evidence and are reviewing surveillance footage as they work to identify those involved.
   

2. Johnstown Community Speaking Out On Crime (fox8tv.com) — Community leaders in Johnstown are responding to a recent shooting and a broader rise in gun violence by tightening security and expanding safe spaces for youth. The Johnstown YMCA is locking doors, checking IDs, and promoting its Safe Space Program for kids and teens from the Greater Johnstown region. Officials stress that consistent, positive places for youth are critical heading into summer.
   

3. New bill addresses trend of Philadelphia citizens claiming residency in Johnstown (wtaj.com) — Johnstown’s housing authority and taxpayers are at the center of a proposed state bill aimed at stopping Philadelphia residents from claiming temporary residency here to obtain Section 8 vouchers. Rep. Frank Burns says the practice has cost Cambria County millions and wants federal HUD policy changed so vouchers go to people who actually remain in the community.
   

4. Former Cambria County inmate sentenced to two years as part of racketeering case (wtaj.com) — A federal judge in Johnstown has added two more years to the sentence of a former Cambria County Prison inmate involved in a racketeering scheme. Prosecutors say the inmate helped bribe staff to smuggle Suboxone into the jail in 2023, then sold it to other inmates. He’ll serve the new time consecutively to an earlier lengthy drug-trafficking sentence.
   

5. Top WWE Stars Headed To NXT (ewrestlingnews.com) — Top WWE names Bayley, PENTA, and Grayson Waller are scheduled to appear at an NXT live event in Johnstown on May 17, giving local fans a rare chance to see major stars up close. The stop is part of a three-city weekend loop through Buffalo, Canton, and finally Johnstown.
