• Route 422 Dunbar Dip (pa.gov) — Drivers near Kittanning Township should be aware that PennDOT is planning a major reconstruction and realignment of the Dunbar Dip section of Route 422, including new turn lanes and intersection changes. Design and environmental studies are underway now, and a public meeting is expected in fall 2026 so nearby property owners and other residents can review options and share feedback. 
• Lewis, Robert (nps.gov) — More than 160 years ago, Robert Lewis mustered into the Union Army in Kittanning before serving with the 79th Pennsylvania Infantry in Kentucky and Tennessee. His regiment guarded vital railroads and fought at Perryville and Stones River, where he was wounded and later died in a Murfreesboro hospital in January 1863.
