1. When can kids trick or treat in the Lehigh Valley? A town-by-town list (mcall.com) — Families in Kutztown can plan now: local trick-or-treating runs 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, matching many nearby towns’ schedules. The full list also covers dozens of Lehigh Valley communities, so Kutztown residents visiting friends or relatives elsewhere can easily check when kids will be out collecting candy across the region.
   

2. Kutztown junior leads the way on offense, defense in L-L League Section 5 win over Columbia (lancasteronline.com) — Kutztown football fans just saw junior Ryan Walters top 1,000 rushing yards for the second straight season and clinch a 43-37 home win over Columbia with a 96-yard interception return. The Cougars controlled the clock, got another 100-yard rusher in Levi Martin, and impressed longtime coach Larry Chester with their resilience heading into next week’s trip to Berks Catholic.
   

3. Embodying the Sacred: Religious Folk Ary and Veneration of the Saints (bctv.org) — If you’re interested in sacred art or local Pennsylvania German history, Kutztown University’s Heritage Center is hosting a free exhibition of Catholic reliquaries and Pennsylvania German religious pieces through summer 2027. Curated by KU art history student Julia Sweeney, the show is open weekdays on campus at the DeLight E. Breidegam Building on Kutztown Road, giving residents plenty of time to explore.
   

4. Local entertainer Pat Garrett, known for songs, sheepskin and his amphitheater, has died (readingeagle.com) — Many in and around Kutztown will remember country entertainer Pat Garrett, who once played shows at Kutztown University before building a national career in music, sheepskins, and radio. The 84-year-old Berks County native, known for his amphitheater near Strausstown and mentoring a young Taylor Swift, has died, leaving behind a legacy of performances, political songs, and a still-operating sheepskin shop.
