1 Dead, 2 Injured After Early-Morning Towamencin Crash
The major crash, which shut down Sumneytown Pike early Monday morning, left one person in their 20s dead and two hurt, police said.
TOWAMENCIN, PA — One person is dead and two others are injured after a two-vehicle crash in Towamencin in the early hours of Monday morning.
The incident occurred at around 2:21 a.m. on the 1000 block of Sumneytown Pike, near North Penn High School. It shut down the road for nearly four hours as an investigation got underway.
A Chevy Cobalt and Nissan Murano were involved in the accident. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, and it's not yet known if any criminal charges will be filed.

One of the vehicles had a male driver, and the other had a male driver and a female passenger. All three individuals were in their 20s, police said.
Authorities have not identified the victim who died, as the investigation is ongoing.

Ambulances took two of the individuals to Grand View Hospital, and a third to Lansdale Hospital. The Jeff-Stat 2 medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but did not transport any of the victims.
Towamencin Police were assisted by Upper Gwynedd and Hatfield police, as well as Towamencin, Upper Gwynedd, and Fairmount fire departments. Harleysville EMS and VMSC also responded to the scene.
