$1000 Donated to Lansdale Police DARE Program

The Lansdale Area Fundraising Society donated $1000 to the police DARE program.

LANSDALE, PA -- The Lansdale Area Fundraising Society donated $1000 to the police DARE program, police said.

Ray Liberto, a member of the organization, dropped a check off at the department.

According to their website, the Lansdale Area Fundraising Society (LAFS) is a "locally organized, locally driven group of Lansdale area citizens who recognize the need for local residents to take ownership and responsibility for the financial well-being and health of local charities, who give so much to our community in which we live."

LAFS runs several local fundraising events and donates the proceeds to local nonprofits and community organizations.

DARE is a national substance abuse prevention program.
