1500 North Penn Elementary Students To Participate In Triathlon

1500 elementary students at North Penn are gearing up for an upcoming triathlon.

LANSDALE, PA -- 1500 elementary students at North Penn are gearing up for an upcoming triathlon at the high school, the district said. The sixth annual IronKnights Triathlon will take place on Saturday, May 13.

Students from kindergarten through sixth grade will swim, run, and bike for distances measured based on their age. Students in kindergarten through second grade will begin bright and early at 8:00 a.m. swimming 20 yards, biking one mile and running a half-mile. Third and fourth graders will be next to follow at 11:00 a.m., swimming 60 yards, biking three miles and running three-quarters of a mile. Students in grades five and six will wrap up the afternoon at 2:30 p.m.and swim 100 yards, bike five miles and run one mile, the school district said.

The event, organized by physical education teacher Jason Theodore of Montgomery Elementary, aims to promote health, wellness, and hard work in students.
