17 Vehicle Thefts Reported Overnight In Towamencin

Police are on alert after the string of burglaries.

Towamencin Police received reports of 17 vehicles being ransacked and robbed overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, from October 26 to October 27.

In most cases, change was taken from the cars.

Other valuable items were also taken, including DVD players, credit cards, and a radar detector, police said.

The thefts occurred on Dean Driver, Village Way, Specht Road, Troxel Road, Steven Lane, Mark Drive, Cheswold Drive, and Oxford Road.

Vehicle thefts are occurring across Montgomery County. Hatboro police issued a public warning a few weeks ago, and a similar rash of incidents occurred in West Norriton Township.

Police advise residents to always lock their cars and to never store valuables in their vehicle.
