3 Injured, Several Rescued From Lansdale Apartment Fire
Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire late Monday night that led to multiple injuries.
LANSDALE, PA — Authorities are investigating the cause of an apartment fire late Monday night in Lansdale that led to multiple injuries and forced residents to leap out of their windows to escape.
The incident occurred at 9:56 p.m. at the Wissahickon Park Apartments, located on the 700 block of E. Main Street in the borough.
When firefighters arrived, they found the blaze coming from the second floor apartment.

Residents inside that apartment had to be rescued, as well as residents in adjoining apartments that were trapped by the fire, according to Lansdale Fire Marshal Richard Lesniak.
Four residents leapt from their second-floor window to escape the blaze, Lesniak added.

All told 30 residents from 11 different apartment units were evacuated from the building.
Three individuals were taken to nearby hospitals after suffering non life-threatening injuries.
Crews put out the fire quickly, and most of the damage from the blaze was able to be restricted to the unit where it originated.
The cause of the fire is not known and is under investigation.
The Fairmount Fire Company was joined by units from several surrounding municipalities in responding to the scene, as well as the Lansdale Police Department and the Volunteer Medical Service Corps.
