5 Injured In Major Montgomery Township Crash

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA -- Five people were injured in a major crash in Montgomery Township late Sunday night.

The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. Sunday on Route 309 near Cowpath Road.

6ABC reports that the crash was a head-on accident, but it's not yet clear what caused the crash.

The five victims were rushed to several area hospitals, with one of them in critical condition, according to Montco Fire Wire. At least one person was taken from the scene by a medical helicopter.

VMSC of Lansdale, Second Alarmers Association, and JeffStat Air Ambulance were among the crews to respond to the scene.

Route 309 was shut down in the wake of the crash.
