9 North Penn HSers Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

The nine local students are among a small elite group selected from more than 1.5 million students nationwide.

LANSDALE, PA — Nine students from North Penn High School have been named national Merit Scholarship semifinalists, earning them a place among a small group of the nation's top students.

The nine are among roughly 16,000 nationwide, from a pool of more than 1.5 million, who advanced to the semifinalist round.

This group will now compete for roughly 7,500 National Merit scholarships available around the country.

  • Naman J. Parikh
  • David Shin
  • Sulin Shin

The National Merit Scholarship Program is now in its 67th year.
