9 North Penn Students Named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists
Just a tiny percentage of the 1.5 million eligible high school juniors make it to this stage.
LANSDALE, PA — North Penn School District is once again turning heads in the academic community.
Nine North Penn students were named National Merit Scholar semifinalists. Just a tiny percentage of the 1.5 million eligible high school juniors make it to this stage, which includes about 16,000 students nationwide. That's less than one percent.
"These academically talented high school seniors will now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for more than 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million," North Penn shared in a statement. "Students named as finalists will be selected in April, May, June, and July based on their ability to show exceptional academic talent and potential for success in rigorous college studies."
