'Avid And Dedicated', Violet Benner Dies At 95

A life well lived.

Violet M. Benner, 95, of Lansdale, died Friday, November 27, 2015. She was the wife of the late C. LeRoy Benner, who died December 15, 1992.

Born January 28, 1920 in Lansdale, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Bertha (Coar) Kindig. Mrs. Benner was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church, Lansdale.

She was an avid reader and dedicated homemaker. Most important to her, however, was the time she spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Donna L. Fluck (Barry) of Olathe, KS, Charles L. Benner (Rosa) of Austin, TX, Susan M. Cooney (Jim) of Lansdale, and Kathleen E. Scatton (Barry) of Harleysville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her wonderful aide, Lucy, who cared for her for many years.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Marple Kindig; and two sisters, Kathryn Schmidt and Betty Stitt. Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Christ United Methodist Church, 1020 S. Valley Forge Rd., Lansdale, PA 19446, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
