BAPS Charities Empowers Healthy Communities at Health Fair

BAPS CHARITIES LANSDALE HOSTS 8TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR

BAPS Charities hosted its 8th annual health fair at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Souderton, PA on Sunday October 25, 2015 in an effort to raise awareness and prevent potentially life threatening health conditions. The health fair saw participation from 30 medical professionals, including specialists in internal medicine/family practice, cardiology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, podiatry, dentistry, physical therapy, pharmacy, and homeopathy. These professionals volunteered to provide personal consultations to over 175 community participants who benefited from various screenings offered free. Screenings included blood pressure, glucose screening, eye exam, and dental exam. Attendees had their blood drawn two weeks before the event and medical professionals used these results to provide counseling accordingly.

BAPS Charities and other community partners collaborated in providing care for patients, including free flu shots provided by Walgreens and ACME.

“Thank you to all the people in this room. BAPS Charities really is the only health fair we have in all of Hatfield Township of 18,000 residents. Every year, you make that effort to bring people here to help them; that is one of the greatest things a community can do.” -Tom Zipfel (President, Board of Commissioners - Hatfield, PA)
