Borough Council Hears Progress Report on Lansdale Arts Center
The plan is to renovate the former Masonic building on Main Street into a community hub of local art.

The massive project to transform the Masonic building on Main Street into the cultural epicenter for downtown Landale continues to gain strong support, a group of representatives informed the Lansdale Borough Concil Wednesday night. According to an article on thereporteronline.com, the meeting room was packed with residents and community members excited about the possibility of the idea becoming a reality.
However, it could be a long wait for the eager, as the estimated cost of the project currently stands at approximately $7.5 million, with members of the borough council uneasy about committing more money to the renovation. That leaves the all-volunteer board of directors for 311 Arts, the organization driving the cause, the tall task of raising the funding. A spokesperson for the group said some interest has been cultivated, but it will take a lot more work to reach the goal, the article says.
