The hazards of swashbuckling.
If you enjoy piratical exploits - or singing pirates that don't really want to harm anybody - you will probably love the Bucks County Gilbert & Sullivan's musical comedy "The Pirates of Penzance" this Saturday and Sunday.
The shows are June 16 at 2 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sunday at 3 PM, at Trinity Episcopal Church, on the corner of Rte. 202 and Rte. 413, Buckingham. A cast of topsy-turvy pirates, nobles and police strive to maintain strict Victorian virtues in the face of utter silliness, all set to Sullivan’s glorious music. Songs include “I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General” and “Poor Wandering One,” accompanied by members of the Bucks County Symphony Orchestra. Tickets are 15, $10 for seniors and students, and can be purchased at the door for each performance. Featuring local singers George Achilles, Jim Shute, Perry Beem, Jill Dulany, David Taylor, Lori Daukas, Bob Kinney, Bob Binkley, Alayna Rakes & Tim Throckmorton, with the orchestra conducted by Lee Milhous.
