National Farmers' Market Week!

Come celebrate at the Lansdale Farmers' Market, this and every Saturday though November 3 from 9 am - 1 pm.  The National Farmers' Market Week Proclamation recognizes that farmers' markets play a key role in revitalizing communities and providing farmers and consumers  opportunities to interact, a fact not lost on Towamencin resident Monica B., "I enjoy talking to the farmers and vendors about the produce, and knowing I'm supporting local businesses."  Elizabeth C., "Loves the diversity of the offerings, the fact that everything is locally produced, and the wonderful community atmosphere." Freshness, affordability, convenience and healthiness are all reasons farmers' markets continue to grow in popularity.  In the last year, there was a 9.6% increase in the number of markets listed in the National Farmers' Market Directory - a total of 7,864 markets nationwide, and 254 in Pennsylvania, including our own Lansdale Farmers' Market.  Today's consumers want to know where and how their food is grown, and find farmers' markets provide just that place!  Still, sometimes it comes down to a chance to have fun, "I think farmers markets are good for a town socially.  They encourage interactions with others in a way that grocery shopping can't match!  And what do I enjoy most?...the samples!"
