Study reveals interesting facts about the current real estate market!

This week results were released upon a survey conducted by Harris Interactive in May 2013. Harris Interactive surveyed approximately 2,000 US adults on the current real estate market. Results revealed of those polled 33% of people are currently searching for a home and of those the majority was willing to negotiate conditions of the agreement of sale in order to seal the deal. Not only did the results show home searchers were willing to negotiate in price and home amenities but in location as well.
Interesting facts the study disclosed were:
- Of those looking for a home, 33% have been looking for well over a year and 67% have been looking for up to a year.
- In the past six months 42% of those searching for a home made an offer and only 11% were accepted.
- 85% of home searchers are willing to what do what’s needed to close the deal
- 51% would be flexable with the closing date
- 31% would purchase in as-is conditions
- 29% would put more cash down then originally put forth
- 88% of home searchers would agree to negotiate on location
- 42% would compromise on length of time for work commute
- 36% on access to restaurants and shopping
- 35% on proximity to friends and family
