What is Psoriasis?

What is Psoriasis? There is an alternative safe and natural way to soothe and relieve symptoms.

What Is Psoriasis?

This is the second type of skin issue we see on a daily basis.

Psoriasis is a common and chronic skin disorder. A person with psoriasis generally has patches of raised red skin with thick silvery scales. The affected skin may be red and scaly or rarely have pustules, depending on the type of psoriasis the individual has.

Psoriasis is usually found on the elbows, knees, and scalp but can often affect the legs, trunk, and nails. Psoriasis may be found on any part of the skin.

Psoriasis is not an infectionand therefore is not contagious. Touching the affected skin and then touching someone else will not transmit psoriasis. However, the red scaly skin can become infected, especially when there are splits in the skin.

The immune system plays a key role in psoriasis which abnormally triggers inflammation in the skin as well as other parts of the body.

Doctors say that it is an inherited disorder, however many people tell me that they have no known relative with psoriasis.  Some people carry genes that make them more likely to develop psoriasis. Just because a person has genes that would make him more likely to have psoriasis doesn’t mean he will have the disease. About one-third of people with psoriasis have at least one family member with the disease. Certain factors trigger psoriasis to flare up in those who have the genes.

Psoriasis flare-ups can last for weeks or months even years. Psoriasis can go away for a time and then returns. Plaque psoriasis is the most common type of psoriasis and is characterized by red skin covered with silvery scales and inflammation. Patches of circular- or oval-shaped red plaques that itch or burn are typical of plaque psoriasis

Approximately 1%-2% of people in the United States, or about 5.5 million, have plaque psoriasis.

Currently there is no cure for psoriasis. But many very safe types of treatment that are available, including safe non drug products applied to the skin,  and safe non drug supplements.  LED Light Therapy not UV light was developed by NASA, gives relief. Most cases are mild and can be treated with skin products. In some cases, psoriasis can be hard to treat if it is severe and widespread. Most psoriasis returns, even mild forms.

The purpose of treatment is to slow the rapid growth of skin cells that causes psoriasis and to reduce inflammation. Treatment is based on the type of psoriasis you have, its location, its severity, and your age and overall health. It also depends on how much you are affected by the condition, either physically (because of factors such as joint pain) or emotionally (because of embarrassment or frustration from a skin rash that may cover a large or visible area of the body).

Some of the triggers for break outs are, stress, long showers or baths,  diet and sweating.   Moisturizing the skin with creams, taking supplements to ease the inflammation and immune system will give you much relief. Also wearing clothing that is light weight cotton.  Jeans & hats aggravate the soreness and itchy skin.  These types of clothing are also known to draw out the natural oils that causes more dryness.

The Green Street Luxuries products I recommend to my customers are made with natural and organic ingredients that gives much relief when prescription meds have failed.

Skin:  Skin Psoriasis Kit and if needed Itch NO More Cream  (this is good to keep close by for immediate relief in between treatments)

Scalp and Hair Line: Scalp Psoriasis Kit and After Shower Moisturizing Cream

Supplement I recommend – Vita Logic Brand: Anti -  Inflammatory & Immune Formula – can be found at your local health food store

I also recommend using LED Light Therapy  this will give AMAZING relief at a faster pace.

This opinion is based on many years of research and customer contact. It is highly recommended that all people should see a doctor for proper diagnosis.
