Alleged Gunman Found Dead, Woman Hospitalized After North Wales Standoff

A shooting incident in North Wales on Thursday night left the gunman dead and one woman hospitalized.

An alleged gunman is dead and a woman is in the hospital after a shooting in a townhouse in North Wales, according to multiple reports.

Shots were fired at about 7 p.m. on Thursday night at the Montgomery Place condominiums on Karen’s Court, according to NBC Philadelphia.

An unidentified woman was shot at least once before she was medevaced from the scene to the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, according to NBC Philadelphia.

Residents were evacuated from their homes by police to the parking lot of a nearby Redners Market, according to The Reporter.

SWAT teams then surrounded the home, where they believed the shooter to be hiding. There was blood on the door of the home, reports state.

Police said that by 10 p.m. they said they had found the alleged shooter dead inside the home.

Police have not yet said how the shooter died.

The shooting is alleged to be a domestic incident, according to The Reporter.

Authorities did not comment on the condition of the woman who was medevaced. The age of the alleged gunman and victim is not known at this time. 

Karen’s Court reopened to residents at 10:55 p.m., according to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety.

It remains closed to vehicular traffic until further notice, officials said.
