The Bucks-Mont Mothers of Multiples Club is a nonprofit organization designed for women in Bucks and who have twins, triplets, quadruplets, or higher-order births.
The club supports, advises and educates its 200-plus members on numerous family related topics. Some examples are: caring for premature triplets, separating sibling multiples into different classrooms, women’s health, and family budgeting.
A significant way the Bucks-Mont MOMs Club helps its members and the community-at-large save money during these challenging economic times is through its twice-yearly rummage sale.
Held at ’s Hyson Hall, the sale offers a wide selection of quality kids’ items at affordable prices and is located right in the heart of the North Penn area.
At the rummage sale, members of the Bucks-Mont MOMs Club consign their kids’ outgrown clothes, toys, sports equipment, nursery furniture, car seats, strollers, and much more. In fact, the volume and assortment of items offered at the sale is quite extensive, as these women are selling multiple items from their multiple children!
Furthermore, there are seasonal items for sale, such as Halloween costumes at the fall/winter sale and bathing suits at the spring/summer sale.
While admission is free, bring plenty of cash, as this is a cash-and-carry sale. is Saturday, Oct. 1. Doors open at 8 a.m.
All proceeds from the sale benefit the Bucks-Mont MOMs Club. As a result, the Bucks-Mont MOMs Club utilizes these proceeds to offset the cost of family-oriented activities for their members.
Examples of activities the club offers are kiddie trips, a hayride and pumpkin picking in the fall, a children’s holiday party, an Easter egg hunt, and a family picnic in the summer. The money generated by the rummage sale also serves as an emergency financial resource for members who are facing a catastrophic hardship.
Club members gather monthly for a brief business meeting led by the club president and board, followed by a guest speaker or workshop related to family life and rearing multiples.
Bucks-Mont MOMs Club meets the third Monday of each month, September through May. Meetings start at 7:30 p.m. New members and guests are encouraged to arrive at 7 p.m. Bucks-Mont MOMs Club meets at Upper Gwynedd Fire Department, 666 Garfield Ave., Upper Gwynedd (West Point).
Members of the club are eager to reach out to expectant mothers of multiples as well as to prospective members. These seasoned members know first-hand how difficult, unpredictable and challenging a multiple pregnancy can be on the expectant mother, father and older siblings.
Also, many members have had experience with premature births and complications from premature births. They are happy to offer information, advice, and support for any new mother of multiples who has her babies in a NICU.
