Today I am grateful for butterflies. How can you see a butterfly and not believe in God? They are impeccably designed, colorful, fragile examples of how wonderful life is. Perfect. People could learn a lot about appreciating and really living life from butterflies. They don’t have a lot of time so they have to make the best of it.

I hope that someday you can experience a butterfly farm. The delicate delights land on you, flutter by you and sneak up on you. It’s a wonderful experience. I don’t get to see monarch butterflies much anymore because they depend on milkweed, which must not be as abundant in Pennsylvania as it was in Wisconsin. I miss them. If you’ve ever seen their migration you’ve been especially blessed.

I have a few twinkling white guys who show up when I’m outside on the patio reading. Usually they zip right past on a mission without landing, but the other day one stopped to rest right in front of me. It was as if it stopped to remind me of what’s important, how fleeting and fragile life is. Within seconds it launched itself on another twisting flight path. I am grateful it stopped for a visit because it also reminded me to also “fly”.
