Controlled Burn To Take Place At Gwynedd Preserve Wednesday

If you see smoke and flames in the area Wednesday, do not be alarmed.

UPPER GWYNEDD, PA — A controlled, prescribed burn will take place on Wednesday at the Gwynedd Wildlife Preserve, officials announced.

A stretch of land along Swedesford Road will be lit on fire to assist with ecosystem services.

The burn is conducted annually in coordination between the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Marshal's Office.

The burn will take place during the afternoon and will be concluded by 5 p.m., officials said.

Residents or motorists who see smoke and flames in the area should not be alarmed.
