YMCA Healthy Kids Day® Weekend - FREE Activities April 27th-April 29th

The North Penn YMCA, with branches in Lansdale, Harleysville and Franconia Township, announces they will be hosting Healthy Kids Day, all weekend long. More than 1,900 Ys across the country are taking part in the celebration, meant to kick start physical activity and learning throughout the summer – a critical out-of-school time for kids. This FREE community event for kids and families is open to all members of the community.

Healthy Kids Day will take place Friday, April 27th through Sunday, April 29th. There will be a variety of activities throughout the weekend for young and old to enjoy, including family swims, free classes and programs, and an Open House on Saturday morning. The Open House will feature a variety of vendors and kids activities, and an opportunity to learn about summer fun at the Y. There will also be a coloring contest sponsored by Auto Dealers - CARing for Kids Foundation. Visit the Y’s website for a schedule of events.

Healthy Kids Day, a national initiative of the Y to improve the health and well-being of kids, is filled with fun, active play and activities that will help parents improve their kids’ lifestyles for the long term. Research shows that without access to activities that stimulate the mind and body, kids are more prone to gain weight and fall behind academically over the summer months.
