Fairmount Fire Company Gets Grant To Buy New Ladder Truck
The funds will be used to purchase a state of the art engine to replace a 40-year-old truck.
LANSDALE, PA — Officials in Lansdale announced this week that they had received a grant that will allow them to purchase a new fire truck for the Fairmount Fire Company.
The new ladder truck is described as "state of the art" and will replace a 40-year-old engine.
The funds come from the federal Assistance to Firefighters grant program for the 2020 fiscal year.

"The purchase...is not only a benefit to the Company but will also allow our members to continue providing the quality fire protection the citizens of Lansdale and surrounding communities have come to expect and deserve," Company President Ryan Lischke wrote in a note to the public.
Lischke also thanked Lansdale Borough officials, Firehouse Grants, and U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick for their assistance in securing the funds.
