Fetterman, Planned Parenthood Will Rally In Montgomery County Sunday
A "Women for Fetterman" rally for the Democrat's Senate campaign is at Montgomery Co. Community College with Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

BLUE BELL, PA — Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman and Planned Parenthood Action Fund are holding a Women For Fetterman rally in Montgomery County amidst the Democrat's bid for Senate.
The rally is at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Fetterman's campaign said.
Fetterman holds a five-point lead (49-44) over opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz in the most recent Susquehanna Polling and Research report, the Times Leader reported. Both are campaigning to replace outgoing Republican Senator Pat Toomey.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Alexis McGill Johnson, Congresswoman Madeleine Dean (D-4), Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (D-5), State House Minority Leader Joanna McClinton (D-191), and County Commissioner Dr. Val Arkoosh are among the guests at Sunday's rally.
"The stakes for reproductive freedom in Pennsylvania have never been higher," Fetterman's campaign said. "That’s why this rally is so important. The more people who come out to this event, the stronger our campaign's message for reproductive freedom will be."

Oz had expressed support for Roe v. Wade as recently as 2019. The celebrity doctor clarified his views on abortion during a tele-town hall in May, when he said it "is still murder" at any stage after conception.
"I've said that multiple times," Oz said, in a clip obtained by The Daily Beast. "If life starts at conception, why do you care what age the heart starts beating at? It’s, you know, it’s still murder, if you were to terminate a child whether their heart’s beating or not."
President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have both been in Pennsylvania recently to stump for their party's anointed candidates. The gubernatorial race sets Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-33) against Democratic Attorney General Josh Shapiro.
On Wednesday, Fetterman agreed to one televised debate with Oz in October, according to the Associated Press. The rivals have traded jokes and barbs on social media, but Oz's campaign has also stepped up its questioning of Fetterman's fitness for office after the Democrat suffered a stroke in May.
Fetterman's campaign, in turn, has said their opponents' true intentions are “about mocking John for having a stroke.”
Oz, a political newcomer, has also accused Fetterman of lying about the seriousness of his stroke. Fetterman has said that he almost died, just days before the Democratic primary, when he suffered the stroke. His campaign said previously he was willing to debate if special accommodations could be made — Fetterman has a slower auditory processing speed post-stroke, the AP reported.
