First Degree Murder Charges Filed In Lansdale Killing: Latest Updates

LANSDALE, PA — While the man who police said climbed into his ex-girlfriend's bathroom window in Montgomery County to kill her new boyfriend recovers in a hospital, new charges were filed.
An investigation Tuesday morning and afternoon led to first degree murder charges against Christopher Moore Jr., 21, of Lansdale. The charges had been widely expected based on initial police reports of what occurred late Monday night.
Moore, who was shot several times, is recovering from his injuries at Jefferson Hospital. He is still awaiting arraignment as treatment is ongoing.
In addition to first degree murder, he was charged with second and third degree murder, burglary, criminal trespass, and possessing an instrumnet of crime.

The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. Monday night at the Walnut Arms Apartment.
Christopher Moore Jr., 21, broke into the bathroom window of the home where the mother of his children lived, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said.

Another man, Wesley Wayne Smith, 21, of Philadelphia, was dating that woman and was inside the home, according to authorities.
Details on exactly what transpired inside remain unclear, and specific charges have not yet been filed. However, police said that Moore went into master bedroom and began firing.
Smith was shot several times and found dead on the floor of the master bedroom, police said.
Smith returned fire and shot Moore several times, police said. Moore was flown to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia for treatment and he is expected to survive.
Police continued to investigate the scene Tuesday. They said they are recovering shell casings from the scene.
An autospy on Smith is scheduled for later Tuesday.
