Five Things to Know Today: June 7

1. Montgomery County Patch editors will host a community happy hour today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at in Montgomeryville. Come out and meet the press and have some drinks.

2. Come out for a ribbon cutting and a joint Lansdale Business Association and PennSuburban Chamber Business Card Exchange Mixer at from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Milestones will be celebrating the expansion into its new studio at its Broad Street location.

3. holds its "Blue and Gold Day Carnival of Fun" from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a talent show from first to eighth grades until 11 a.m. and a special BBQ with games, face painting, carnival treats and more from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

4. Friends of Lansdale Library meet at 7 p.m. at the library. And don't forget the last day of the library's big annual used book sale with the $1 a bag clearance!

5. York Avenue Elementary School holds its third annual Science Fair from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school in Lansdale. North Penn families, staff and community members are invited to witness student projects, hear problem solving and watch critical thinking come to life. There is also a Live Science Wax Museum and a Learning Academy, where parents and students can gather resources to promote summer learning.
