Today I am grateful for fly swatters. The other day I had my bedroom window open one inch without the screen and now I have four million flies in the house. Or one. I can’t say for sure, but it/they sure are annoying.
I wish I had the battery-charged fly swatter I had in Jakarta because I’d love to see this bugger fry with that zapper. Sorry all of you earth mothers, but I see no redeeming value in pesky flies. Maybe in summer they eat mosquitos, but right now they are just annoying. I wish I had cicaks! (Indonesian lizards that lived on our walls-like a gecko.) I wouldn’t have a fly in the house! Or any other bugs, either!

I’m holding court with the fly swatter, typing with one hand. I haven’t seen it/them since. I think they’re holding maneuvers in the bathroom. Just wait until I get up and move to another location, leaving the fly swatter behind. They’ll line up in attack formation and charge. . . bbbbuuuzzzzing me into a homicidal frenzy! Pest(s)!!!!
