Food Pantry Named Lansdale's Business of the Month

By James Boyle Manna on Main Street received the award Monday from Lansdale's Economic Development Committee.

Staffed mostly by volunteers, Manna on Main Street is the kind of place where people work because they want to be there, not to earn a paycheck. For more than 30 years, the non-profit food pantry has been working on its mission to provide food security to hungry families throughout the area.

On Monday, the Lansdale Economic Development Committee recognized those efforts by naming Manna on Main Street the borough’s September business of the month, according to thereporteronline.com.

According to the article, Manna on Main Street provided approximately 36,000 meals to more than 1,000 families in the past fiscal year. The food pantry is also an integral member of the new North Penn Commons, a campaign to relocate community resources to one central location, adjacent to the Lansdale YMCA.
