Forced Retirement Results in New Novel
Lansdale Local Offers Grape Nuts or Corn Flakes...and other decisions

HARLEYSVILLE, PA, April 10 -- When Jane Waters Bugg was 'restructured' out of her job as a communications specialist at age 62, she was completely unprepared. After months of depression, self-recrimination, cleaning out closets and taking long walks, she settled herself at her computer and started writing. The result was a novel, Grape Nuts or Corn Flakes...and other decisions (267 pp., Amazon, Kindle).
Grape Nuts tells the story of Deb Cromwell, a 60-something woman who survived a sexual assault years before in college. That part of her life was so well hidden that if you weren't there when it happened, you would never suspect the turmoil inside. She appears to be be a well-adjusted woman going through her day-to-day. But time has a way of catching up. Join Deb as life forces her to cope with past choices and find redemption in the future.
Deb's journey touches on subjects including rape, suicide, substance abuse, and atonement, all the while highlighting husband/wife/child relationships. The novel is targeted to mature women and those who seek to understand them and is available as a paperback or ebook on Amazon and Kindle (Grape Nuts or Corn-Flakes).
