BLUE BELL, PA — The Montgomery County Community College Municipal Police Academy got a huge boost on Monday in the form of a $50,000 donation from a community nonprofit.
The funds come from Quest for the Best, a foundation which provides funding and services to groups committed to "strengthening the common good of mankind."
“Having served as a Chief Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, I observed, firsthand, the importance of sound police training," Taras M. Wochock, president of Quest for the Best, said in a statement. "We are honored to participate in a program that provides the best possible training for police recruits to ensure future safety in our communities."

The money will help create a scholarship fund for students enrolled in the program. Four scholarships per year of $2,500 each will be provided for cadets who demonstrate leadership and excellence, the school said.
“Law enforcement today is a challenging profession, but it is also very rewarding. It takes special people who strive to make a difference in their communities to work in this field,” Police Academy Director Jude McKenna said in a statement. “We are grateful that Quest for the Best recognizes the diligent work and commitment of our cadets by creating this generous scholarship fund.”
