Fundraiser Aims To Keep Elderly Lansdale Couple Together

LANSDALE, PA — Helen and Alex Kobasa, both in their 90s, have been been married for 68 years. Now, they may be forced to live apart.

Due to financial constraints, and because both require different types of specific, round the clock care, their family needs to raise money in order to keep them housed together.

A GoFundMe campaign has a goal of $52,000. After a week of fundraising, the campaign has raised about $1,400.

"While they diligently saved as much as possible so they could grow old together and provide for their children and grandchildren," the fundraiser states. "They've found themselves outliving every bit of their savings due to the great longevity they have achieved."

Helen, now 94, worked in clerical and retail jobs for years until she became a registered nurse at age 58. Alex, now 96, was a mail carrier.
